We also deliver accredited programs in film making for young people. Our programs have been designed to increase confidence, self esteem and to develop participants team working & communication skills. We work in conjunction with schools, colleges, PRU's, YOT's, children's charities, housing associations and local authorities throughout London and the South East.
As part of our film making programs, students/ participants can produce:
- Short films demonstrating what has been learned or achieved;
- Documentaries, short dramas or case studies- stories to motivate or inspire;
- ‘How to’ videos- on different topics or themes, most relevant to the audience;
- Biographical short film's- perhaps based on positive role models within your local community, for example businesses owners, youth/ community/ social workers, or leaders of a faith-based organisation/ group.
Promotional Videos Academy use the film making process as a way of engaging and awakening the creative potential of young people- facilitating the production of short films that empower, inspire or educate audience's.
We work in conjunction with a number of organisations that work to empower and develop the skills of young people. One such organisation is The Safety Box. Our team faciliated this production as part of one of their programs at Grove Park Youth Club (in Lewisham). The film produced was scripted, presented, filmed and directed by 8 - 12 year olds. Pre production and filming took place over 4 sessions.
Croydon Voluntary Action working in conjunction with Promotional Videos ran a multimedia participation course to enable the Xpress group, aged 16 - 21, to explore the qualities professionals need to work effectivley with young people. The aim of this project was to empower young people to play a more proactive role in the reform, and ongoing development of the Children's Workforce in Croydon.
This 12 minute film was produced by 15 young people aged between 12- 18, looking at the role Faith has to play in the lives of the participants/ local residents. Our tutors facilitated the production running 6 full day film production workshops. The production was funded by Faiths In Action and delivered in conjunction with Croydon Voluntary Action.
